Changing insurer
Motorists may nominate to change CTP insurer at any time while the vehicle is currently registered, though the actual change of insurer will only come into effect from the commencement of the next registration period.
Your current insurer is shown on your certificate of registration.
If you are considering changing insurer, you will need to investigate the offers from various insurers and make a decision before you approach Queensland Transport to pay your registration.
Please note: once you have paid your registration renewal, the CTP insurer at the time of payment must remain your insurer until the end of the registration period covered by the renewal.
How to nominate a change of Insurer
1. If you have received your vehicle registration renewal notice and want to nominate a new insurer:
A nomination to change insurer can be made by:

Step 1:
Decide on your preferred insurer from the list on the front of the renewal notice. -
Step 2:
Determine the new fee due. Your preferred insurer can provide this. -
Step 3:
If not paying by phone, complete the CTP Insurer nomination section on the reverse side of the renewal notice.
If paying by phone, e.g. BPAY, phone Queensland Transport on 13 23 80 to register your change of insurer before the date shown on the front of the renewal notice. -
