Fatal injury claims
If a person sustains a fatal injury in a motor vehicle accident, which was wholly or partly the fault of some other person a claim for loss/expenses can be made by a relative/dependant of the person who sustained the fatal injury.
Examples of loss/expenses that may be claimed by a relative/dependant of the person who sustained a fatal injury are:
-
The reasonable costs associated with the funeral of the person who sustained the fatal injury;
-
Loss arising from the death of a provider which could include the surviving spouse (including de facto partner), dependent children and other dependent persons of the person who sustained the fatal injury.
